For months and months I’ve wanted to start writing in the blog again. I got behind at some point and it seemed so hard to write what was necessary to catch up. At one point I actually did it…spent hours finding the right background, the perfect pictures and most of all the right words to sum up months of our lives. I was so relieved to have it done! But then I got a message a few days later that there had been a technical glitch and all the work? Gone. Poof. Then of course homework and life got in the way and I kept thinking I’d get to it later. So instead of doing a photo recap of the last year I’m going to just start on what’s going on now and insert the recap later!
But maybe I should introduce a small addition to the blog….Avery Anne! God has blessed us so much. Avery Anne is an awesome little baby and Addy loves being her big sister. I couldn’t be happier with our little family. Having a second baby is scary. I felt (feel) such overwhelming love for Addy and the thought of having another baby to love really kept me up at night. I worried I wouldn’t be able to love this one as much as I loved Addy. I didn’t see how it was possible. And I was so worried how it was going to affect Addy. Would she resent this new little baby? Was I taking away part of her toddlerhood? Well….I shouldn’t have worried a bit. God takes care of these things. Somehow my heart was filled with even more love for this second little miracle. And Addy? Best big sister ever. She loves playing with Avery Anne and Avery Anne just watches her big sister and laughs. Addy is growing into such a great little girl. She amazes me more and more each day. Right now she loves being a “princess”. Every day she has to put on a princess skirt, and she’ll say “You missed me? You missed the princess?” She loves dancing, singing (which of course makes Jay very happy), basketball and playing pretend. I can’t wait for Avery Anne to get big enough to play with her! Right now, I’ll lay AA on the floor and Addy will cover her up and play with her while she’s on the floor. If Avery Anne starts crying she’ll love on her and say “it’s ok…it’s ok sweetheart..don’t cry”. It’s sweet! Avery Anne seems like she might end up being a bit of a Daddy’s Girl. She loves watching her Poppa. She grins and laughs and gets so excited.
I want to keep up on this so I can look back and remember all the outlandish, hilariously sweet stuff the girls do, so keep after me to write :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
WOW! I’m so far behind! My camera didn’t take great pictures of her party and I was hoping I could edit them but…no luck lol.
We had Adalynn’s birthday party and it was great =) She had the traditional McNabb standing koala bear cake and little ladybug cupcakes. We grilled out at Granny’s house and everyone we know came to play with Addy. We had a blast!!!

a note for Addy...
My sweet little girl,
This post is so late because every time I sat down to write it I was unable to find the words to explain just how much we love you. I can hardly believe we had your first birthday a couple weeks ago. This year has just flown by and your Daddy and I have loved every precious second of it. You’ve brought such joy to our lives. We never could have imagined just how much we would love you and how much you would bring to our lives. You’re such a great baby (and that’s not bias-everyone says so!). I love how curious and observant you are, watching you discover the world is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. I love how you prefer all your books spread out on the floor so you can sit in the middle and read them all. You get so offended when I put them up haha. You can sit back there for an hour, flip through them and “read” them to yourself. I love the way your eyes light up and you say “Mmm” when you eat something new. You are such a sweet, cuddly girl. You’ll just come over and hug and kiss all over us and it’s the sweetest thing. Your favorite game is chase, and just by saying “I’m gonna get you”, you’ll turn and run off laughing hysterically. And now you’re starting to realize you can get us too =) I look forward to every morning…your smile is such a great way to start the day! You’re such a mischievous little girl. One of your favorite games is offering us a bite then pulling it away…you do it over and over and think it’s the funniest thing in the world. This afternoon you did it to Daddy and after a few times you popped it in your mouth and said “Mmm” =) Daddy has been dancing with you and I love watching the two of you waltz around the living room. You’ll lay your head down and hum softly along. I’m filled with such love at moments like this. You are the best part of us and have made our lives so much better. We love you so SO much, sweet girl.
Love you always,
Mommy and Daddy
PS: Score one for mom and dad….we made it through the first year without any injuries or you getting sick (runny noses don’t count!)!!

Too funny
There’s no telling what Chloe did to make Addy mad but she’s been following her around all day-she’ll point and yell at her, and she scrunches her whole face, wrinkles her nose and starts breathing really heavy through it…possibly the funniest thing I’ve seen ever =)

She know what she wants...
I put Addy’s shoes on her and she stomped her foot a couple times, gave me a confused look, and stomped some more. When she realized they weren’t squeaky shoes, she started shaking her head no and went to her shoe drawer and got the pair she wanted-squeaky shoes, of course!

FIRST STEPS!!!!
Yep, you read right!! Addy took her first steps tonight =) Woo Hoo! We have 6 days to perfect her skills for the party ;)

Nearly every day I ask Addy “where’s Mommy’s nose? Where’s Addy’s nose?”, as I point to it… Then we do eyes, ears, etc. Well, today my smart little girl surprised me by actually pointing to my nose! AND my eyes (actually she nearly poked them out- hey a wins a win, right?!) She would point each time I asked! Only one problem…she only does my nose and eyes haha. When I ask where her nose is she still points to mine. But I still think she’s brilliant ;)
And we’re still not walking. I really think she’s getting close though. She can stand by herself for a long time without holding on to anything. And now when we try to get her to walk she stares down at her feet while she’s bouncing, as if willing them to move haha
Adalynn is also getting more and more verbal. She says “that” now. And points to whatever she wants. After we took away her cupcake the other day she sat frantically signing “more”, then she’d get up and point, say “that” and sign “more” again. It was too cute!

"Ummm cupcake?? Nope, haven't seen it!"

Gog?
Eleven months old! Can you believe it? Time has really flown by and we’ve loved every minute of it. Our little girl is so precious! She’s said her first word (if you don’t count Mama)!! It’s “dog”....well, actually it’s “gog” but she’s working on the D. She also said “Da” this morning :) Every time she hears dogs bark she says “gog?” Last night I was trying to get her to sleep and Chloe kept walking in and out and she kept whispering “gog, gog”. Addy looooooovveees dancing. I’ll have to post the video of her getting down to “Twist & Shout” hahahaha. She gets her little feet going :) And her favorite food is blueberries. She’ll share just about everything but if you take one of her blueberries you’re in trouble!
We just got back from Wal-Mart…man what a trip. She loves to “help” now. She wanted to push the cart, which meant I had to hold her and help steer. She got mad when we stopped and would let out this high-pitched squeal only babies and small yippy dogs can achieve. And she would NOT let go of the cart so I could get stuff off the shelf lol. I had to pry her hands off to get the cereal. What I thought was going to be a quick 15 minute trip turned into nearly an hour.

Yummmm funnel cake
We went to watch the parade and went to the fair yesterday. Addy enjoyed the parade for a while then was looking at us like “uhhh…guys? Even I know how to wave. This isn’t all that impressive” but she got excited again when the horses came around! Then we went to the fair. She was mesmerized by all the lights and rides and she loved the animals, especially the goats. But hands down her favorite was the funnel cake. That got a big “MmMMMMMMMmm”!!!
such a pretty girl
Addy was so funny. She went to her diaper bag and started pulling everything out one at a time. Each thing was looked at carefully and tossed aside…Even the Puffs :) Finally she got to the bottom of the bag and started doing her happy dance complete with a squeal. JACKPOT! So I watched to see what she could have been looking for that made her so happy…. HER NEW SHOES!!!! She sat down and tried to put them on herself but finally brought it over to me. After I put them on she spent 15 minutes admiring them, turning her foot one way then the other hahahaha. She might not have got my looks but at least she got my love of shoes ;)

good times
Sooo it’s taken me a while to do this post. Sorry guys! I usually have pictures on my phone to post but this time they were on the camera. Anyways…we went to NWA a couple weeks ago :) We had an AWESOME time at Papa and Grandma Nancy's!!! Mom, Stevie, Addy and I all went to the Jenks Aquarium! Addy LOVED it! There was a shark tank with a tunnel you could walk through, where the sharks swam all around you. She had a lot of fun at the touching pools. Stevie picked up some shrimp for her to touch…and she got excited and smacked it half to death! There was also a pool where you could touch stingrays and sharks. Unfortunately, we had taken her swimming the day before and she got upset she couldn’t get IN the stingray pool hahaha. My favorite part of the day was when she had a “coughing” contest with Mom. She thought it was the funniest thing in the world to cough. She was trying so hard her eyes were bugging out lol.
We also had Adalynn’s baby dedication! She wore the same beautiful dress Anna Grace, Ava and one of her cousins wore…I love that! We had a great time and got some awesome pictures.

big news!
Adalynn’s 9 month check-up was this week. She’s 27 ½ inches long, 17 pounds and 14 ounces, with a head circumference of 18. She’s doing great!! She’s only gained about a pound and a half since last visit, so she’s still on the small side, but the doctor said that was just fine.
And we’ve got big news……drum roll please…..she’s been standing ALL BY HERSELF!!! Not for very long lol but it’s a start. Unfortunately, this means she’s also busted her face on the coffee table =( She has been teething (they’ve broke skin!) and when she fell, she hit her top tooth on the coffee table and cut it pretty bad. I felt awful for her bc they had already been hurting and that couldn’t have helped.
Addy has learned a few more things this past week: Eskimo kisses, high-fives, saying “mmmwah” when she gives kisses, and she realized she can reach the piano (not my favorite!). She’s also completely mastered rolling over and crawling away mid diaper change ;) And she dances hahaha. She’ll go to her activity table, make it play music then start dancing and singing….too freakin’ cute!

9 months!
I can’t believe Adalynn is NINE months today! She’s grown up so fast. She’s such a happy baby and man, does she have some personality :) She’s recently started to understand joking and playing. She LOVES playing chase…she’ll take off and stop to look at me and when I come after her she throws her arms up, starts laughing and crawling as fast as she can! She also has an amazing ability to ignore me…especially if veggies are involved.
Here’s an overview of our last couple weeks!
I took her to see a kiddy music group at the library. She was hilarious :) Much to Jason’s pleasure she loves music. She was clapping, singing, and dancing! She sings at church too lol…a very loud “AHHHhhhhHHHHHhhh”.
Addy enjoyed her first Fourth of July! She was in awe of all the fireworks (as well as some light sabers a bunch of kids had…I fully expect a “Mommy can I” next year!). The look of wonder on her face was so sweet.
We also went to the Little Rock zoo with Pappy. Most of the animals were inside, laughing at all the supposedly “smarter species” walking around in the heat, so we didn’t see a whole lot :) But she loved the giraffes…and of course, her favorite, the snow cone! I had thought I would get a sweet picture of her enjoying the carousel, but she was in an all out war with her hair bow…the bow lost :)

Woo Hoo
Woo Hoo!! Adalynn has accomplished so much today! I woke up to her standing in her crib, banging and saying “mamamama”. AND she’s started crawling on all fours! YAY Addy!!!! Only problem is she gets frustrated because she wants to walk and pull up on everything but can’t yet.
She went swimming at Aunt Marilyn’s the other day and LOVED it! She wasn’t real sure what to think at first, but before long she was kicked back in her floatie and splashing! We took her to the park last week and she loves swinging =) It’s gonna be a great summer!!
